A mini-Backstreet Boy (or girl!) is on the way. Kevin Richardson and his wife, Kristin, are expecting their second child later this year, the boy-bander announced Sunday via Twitter. The 41-year-old singer tweeted a photo of the mom-to-be and her growing baby bump posing with the Easter Bunny. “So excited to share….,” he wrote. “The Easter bunny brought a very special egg this year!” The couple have been married since 2000 and are also parents to a 5-year-old son named Mason. On Sunday, December 18, former Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson joined musician Rob Gonzalez for a very special charity concert in Beverly Hills. LookToTheStars.org got the chance to talk to the singers prior to the “Home For The Holidays – A Concert To Benefit The Angeles Clinic Foundation” event. Kevin, the world has been thrilled you recently joined the Backstreet Boys for a reunion. Would you consider yourself as the band’s philanthropic voice? All of us have our own causes that speak to us individually. My past was a little more political with my environmental endeavors. But cancer is very close to my heart. My cousin Brian was born with a heart defect; so he founded the Health Heart Club for Kids, which he’s been running for years. And Howie lost his sister to Lupus; so he has a Lupus foundation. AJ’s been doing a lot of work, as well. Rob, you are compared to legends like Van Morrison and Ray Charles. What do you think is the purpose of music in society? Music unites everyone on a common playing field. The purpose of music is to just bring people together—to elevate people to a higher ground. But it has many, many contributions it has to offer, like bringing about social changes. Myself personally, I’ve always loved that fact that I can use my music to contribute and give back. Kevin, what do you think is music’s point? Music brought me to a window of imaginary places, and took me on journeys, when I was listening to it alone in my room. It would take me places. Kevin Richardson, a former member of the Backstreet Boys, and Rob Gonzalez have teamed up to perform a spectacular holiday benefit concert for the Angeles Clinic Foundation. The upcoming benefit concert, “Home For The Holidays-A Concert to Benefit the Angeles Clinic” will take place at the Montage Beverly Hills on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Rob Gonzalez and Kevin Richardson took time out of their busy schedule today in order to talk to me a little bit more about this amazing event and the great work of the Angeles Clinic Foundation. Cathy: How did you both become involved with the Angeles Clinic Foundation? Rob: I am the house performer at the Montage Beverly Hills, and it was there that I met Farrah Fawcett’s doctor, Dr. Piro. He is the CEO of the Angeles Clinic. . . I had an idea about holding a benefit concert and emailed him. I had read about the Angeles Clinic Foundation and thought it was perfect. Read full article. |

It can be difficult for anyone during the holidays to travel to see both sides of their family. Kevin Richardson from the Backstreet Boys shared this common trouble recently and even mentioned how the flying from location to location hasn’t really changed since growing up. “In my family on Christmas Eve, we would go to my grandparents on my mother’s side. And then on Christmas day we would go to my other grandparent’s house. In both of those instances we would have a big dinner and then we would open presents. All my cousins would be there. That’s what we did every year, so since I’ve moved away from home, every year–I think I’ve missed only one year–I’ve flown back or traveled back to Kentucky with my family. We, my wife and I, have a son now. This year we are actually going to spend Christmas–he’s four now–here at our home in California. Then we’re going to go see my family in Kentucky. [Laughs] So we can establish our own little Christmas Eve and Christmas Day tradition as our own little family.” Read full article. |
